Independent wheel time
A session to practice your wheel throwing skills
Course information
Take your ceramics to the next level with our independent wheel time—designed to support both confident beginners who have done a course and for those ready to move beyond guided sessions and develop their own creative voice. These sessions offer dedicated studio time in a supportive, inspiring environment where you can explore your own ideas, refine techniques, and build confidence working independently. Whether you’re a continuing on from a course or returning to ceramics after a break, you’ll have the freedom to shape your own projects while benefiting from expert guidance when you need it. We have 4 wheels in the studio and a wide range of tools and equipment. What’s included? 1 hour of practical making and learning time followed by time to clean up. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SESSION DOES NOT INCLUDE THE COST OF CLAY, GLAZING OR FIRING. The clay needed for your session can be purchased as an add on either by the KG or as a whole bag that you will take away with you. The firing of work is priced by the cubic cm and will be charged prior to work being fired. An additional glazing session can be booked should you need it, please note that if you wish to layer glazes you will need to do a test tile first to test the stability of the glazes being used. What will you need to provide? You will need to come armed with a plastic storage box to keep work in a workable condition between sessions. You will be provided with an apron, but it is advisable that you wear clothing that you don’t mind getting muddy! Work will be ready for collection approximately 4 weeks after your last class. The process of drying and firing will be explained to you in detail at the time of your course or class. *The firing of work is dependent on the drying time of your piece and the kiln being ready to take a full load* Please read the terms and conditions by following the link at the bottom of this page before booking. PACEMAKER: All potters wheels (every brand) are potentially harmful to a person who has a pacemaker you must seek information and guidance from your doctor.
