Course information
A fun family pottery session for adults and children where all of the family can make and create together! What’s included? 1.5 hours of practical hand making and learning. Each step of the making journey will be explained as the lesson progresses and questions are welcomed! You can follow along with the provided project or let the creativity overtake and see where it takes you! You will use underglazes to add surface colour to complete your masterpiece. Please note that this does not include wheel throwing. Please let me know the ages of children attending on the booking form so that I can ensure that projects are age appropriate. Where can it take you? With further lessons, you and the family can go on to develop your hand building skills; slab building, pinch pots and coiling. If desired, you can even explore how to incorporate decoration and glaze to further enhance your pieces! All tools, equipment, materials, and firing, as described below, are included. You will be provided with an apron, but it is advisable that you wear clothing that you don’t mind getting muddy! Minimum age 7 years old and maximum child's age is 15 years old. All children must be accompanied by a participating adult. As this is a working studio H&S advice must be followed, children must be under the supervision of parents at all times. Each of you can choose one piece to be fired and glazed for you. Additional pieces can be glazed and fired at a cost of £10 an item, payable before the end of the lesson. Work is ready for collection approximately 4 weeks after your class. The process of drying and firing will be explained to you in detail at the time of your course or class. With prior arrangement and payment of delivery fees work may be sent via courier or another mailing service.
