Get in the festive mood and create your own ceramic Christmas ornaments. You’ll use hand-building techniques and decorate your ornaments using seasonal colours and glazes, creating your own Christmas decorations or gifts, these make great custom gift tags!. Minimum participant age is 5 years old. *For sessions that take place in December work may not be ready to collect in time for Christmas day* Using slab building techniques you'll create the main form of your decorations. You'll also have the opportunity to add your own unique details and decorative elements using sprigs and sgraffito, giving your pieces plenty of unique character. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some previous clay experience, this workshop offers a fun and creative introduction to clay hand building. Come along, get creative, and leave with your own handmade Christmas decorations that are uniquely yours. Whats included? 2 hours of practical making and decorating time to create 4 decorations. All tools and materials, as well as the use of a studio apron during the session. We recommend wearing clothing that you don't mind getting a little muddy. You will be able to apply glazes on the night to complete your piece. Your work will have a clear glaze applied by me and be twice fired before being ready to pick up 4-6 weeks after your session. Clay must be completely bone dry before it can be fired, and colder weather can affect drying times. The drying and firing process will be fully explained during your workshop. Where Can It Take You?
