Course information

Unleash your creativity and craft something truly special in our ceramic platter-making workshop. Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply looking to try something new, this hands-on experience is the perfect way to explore clay, learn new skills, and create a beautiful platter you’ll treasure for years to come. Price is per person and the number of participants can be selected at checkout. Guided step by step in a relaxed and welcoming studio, you’ll shape, refine, and decorate your own unique piece while discovering essential hand-building techniques. It’s a fun, creative escape where you can slow down, get messy, and enjoy making something with your hands. What’s included? Enjoy two hours of expert-led making and decorating, with plenty of support throughout, and a light charcuterie served on our very own handmade platters! Followed by time to tidy your space in line with studio best practice. Everything you need is provided—from tools and materials to firing—so you can simply turn up and enjoy the experience. Aprons are included, but we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little muddy! Your platter will be carefully finished and kiln-fired, ready to collect in approximately 4–6 weeks. During the session, you’ll also learn about the drying and firing process, giving you a deeper understanding of how your piece comes to life. (As part of the handmade process, slight warping can sometimes occur—adding to the character of your work!) Where can it take you? Loved your experience? Continue your creative journey with our range of workshops, from one-off tasters to in-depth six-part courses covering hand-building and wheel throwing. There’s so much more to explore!
